Anne & Alan Roberts – Liverpool

We have had a great time here at Burnbrae. Felt comfortable and relaxed the moment we walked in. Very comfortable and well equipped little haven in the Highlands. Great base for touring the area with plenty to see and do. We will surely return in the future. Thank you Heather and David for providing us with the opportunity to stay at Burnbrae.

Kitt family – Surrey

Have had a wonderful time and the weather was very kind to us most of the time. Been to Skye, on Loch Ness & Urquhart Castle, Fort Augustus, Fort William, Mallaig and Nairn. Dolphin spotting in the Cromarty Firth - saw 30+. White water rafting in Aberfeldy and to ‘Go Ape’ in Aberfolyle, on rope bridges and zip wires high in the tree tops. Fed reindeer in Aviemore and pony trekking in Cougie. Hope to return one day and plan to stay here again. Such a cosy place to unwind at the end of the day. Thank you so very much.

We had a great week exploring the area; Urquhart Castle, Loch Ness, Divach Falls, Urquhart Bay woods, Craigmonie, etc. Mostly the weather was charming!! We also liked our trips to Inverness & Fort William. We’re looking forward to come back to the Highlands once again. Until then we will remember them by looking at the lots of pictures we took.

Heather, thank you for all of your help both before we arrived and after we got here. We absolutely loved Scotland and Burnbrae. The people here are super. Sorry we didn’t see Nessie.

A beautiful cottage with all a family could need to have a very nice holiday. Highlands are wonderful: castles, mountains, woods, water, water and water ... and don’t forget whisky! And people are so nice! Thank you very much to Heather and we hope to come back again.

Enjoyed an excellent Hogmanay in Drumnadrochit. Took in the New Year with the pipes and fireworks! A lovely cosy cottage where we’ve had a relaxing time and a great holiday. Many thanks.

Thanks for the warm welcome to your lovely wee cottage. Brilliant position for using as a base to explore all the Glens and the many places of interest. Feel like we have had a holiday as it’s so peaceful but managed to cram such a lot of things into our week. We’ve travelled all over, including a trip to Skye – timed it right as the sun was shining. Although there has been rain every day we’ve managed to track down the sunny spells. That’s about the only thing you’ve not had any control over! Everything else has been thought about and provided in the cottage to make it a cosy wee “home from home”. Many thanks once again.

A & N Snook – Ipswich

So many welcoming touches – a treat to settle in and relax quickly – easy to feel at ease and comfy. Thank you. We were lucky with the weather – though treated to the experience of ‘rapid change’ from wind/rain/sun and back again! Local walks lovely (make sure you have walked far enough to see the MAIN fall and not just the “introductory” falls, esp. at Plodda. Riding at Cougie with Sasha Mackintosh and ponies a real outdoor treat _ (novices) amazed at what we experienced (and rode through) fording hefty streams! But stayed on and were rewarded with sights of osprey.

Awesome! Great hospitality – the Christmas tree, crackers, mulled wine and food were lovely touches that made us feel very welcome. Glen Nevis – Ben Nevis – made a snowman in the ice/snow, loved Loch Ness cruise and castle trip were great – didn’t see Nessie this trip – will have to come back! Have filled a lot into only 5 days and had a ball! Thanks Heather and David.

7 – 10 December 2006

John and Cath - Bristol

Thanks so much for the warm welcome Heather and for the brilliant advice David. We enjoyed Plodda Falls and Glen Affric – both great short walks. The dam at Glen Cannich was impressive – we spotted a big stag on the way there! Urquhart Castle is a great afternoon out. We enjoyed dinner (wonderful venison!) at the Clansman and real ale at the Benleva Hotel. A breathtaking perfect location.

We have had a wonderful, relaxing week here at Burnbrae. The cottage has all one needs. The children have felt at home – we were well received by Heather and thank her for the hospitality. Places to see? Glen Affric would be top of the list. Various waterfalls (Plodda) and Abriachan (near A82 towards Inverness has many super walks and an excellent treehouse. Culloden and the bracing coasts around the Moray Firth (Nairn) were super too. Thanks.

We have had a lovely week here – so much to see & do – time ran out. The views, the walks, the boat on the Loch and to end it all horse riding through the woods and even in the Loch. Back to reality on Monday morning. Thanks for it all – including all the essentials.

We had a terrific time. Perfect location for our activities (castles, Culloden, Isle of Skye, hiking Ben Nevis!), and cosy place to come back to each evening.

This has been a wonderful holiday for us all. The cottage is so comfortable and you supplied every possible need – it really was home from home. The area is so beautiful and there was so much to do. We walked, rode, climbed, learnt, visited and enjoyed! Thank you from us all. Happy Easter!
